Existing Students

View and manage currently enrolled active students

Overview

The Existing Students page displays all currently enrolled students who are actively participating in the program. This is the primary list for day-to-day student management operations.

Viewing the Table

To access the Existing Students list:

  1. Navigate to Admitted User in the sidebar
  2. Click on Users
  3. Select Existing
  4. The table displays all active students

Table Columns

The Existing Students table displays the following information:

S/NSerial number for reference
NameStudent's full name (clickable to view profile)
Student IDUnique student identifier
EmailStudent's email address
CampusEnrolled campus location
LevelCurrent academic level (Level 1 or Level 2)
IntakeIntake period (e.g., January 2024)
StatusCurrent enrollment status
ActionsAvailable operations (View, Edit)

Searching

Use the search bar to find specific students:

Searchable Fields:

  • Student name (first or last name)
  • Student ID
  • Email address

Search Behavior:

  • Case-insensitive matching
  • Partial match supported (e.g., "John" finds "Johnson")
  • Results update as you type

For exact matches, search by Student ID which is unique to each student.

Filtering

Apply filters to narrow down the student list:

Available Filters

  1. Campus Filter

    • Select one or more campuses
    • Shows students enrolled at selected campuses
  2. Level Filter

    • Level 1 - First-year students
    • Level 2 - Second-year students
  3. Intake Filter

    • Filter by intake period
    • Select specific intake (e.g., January 2024)
  4. Session Filter

    • Filter by academic session
    • Current or previous sessions

Applying Filters

  1. Click the Filter button or expand filter panel
  2. Select your filter criteria
  3. Click Apply to filter results
  4. View filtered count in the table header

Clearing Filters

  • Click X on individual filter tags to remove specific filters
  • Click Clear All or Reset to remove all filters
  • Refresh the page to reset to default view

Actions

For each student in the table, you can perform these actions:

View Profile

Click on the student's name or the view icon to access their full profile, including:

  • Personal information
  • Academic records
  • Payment history
  • Attendance records

Edit Student

Click the edit icon to modify student information:

  • Update personal details
  • Change campus assignment
  • Adjust status

Quick Actions Menu

Some records may have additional quick actions:

  • Send notification
  • View payment status
  • Check attendance

Editing student records creates an audit trail. All changes are logged with timestamp and admin who made the change.

Sorting

Click on column headers to sort the table:

Sortable Columns:

  • Name (A-Z, Z-A)
  • Student ID (ascending/descending)
  • Campus (alphabetical)
  • Level (1, 2)
  • Intake (chronological)

Sort Behavior:

  • Click once for ascending order
  • Click again for descending order
  • Arrow indicator shows current sort direction

Pagination

Navigate through multiple pages of students:

  • Previous / Next buttons - Move one page at a time
  • Page Numbers - Jump to specific pages
  • First / Last - Jump to beginning or end

Items Per Page

Select how many students to display:

  • 10 items per page
  • 25 items per page
  • 50 items per page
  • 100 items per page

Larger page sizes may take longer to load. Use 25-50 items for optimal performance.
